Ask them what qualifications are needed to work at the hatchery and how many graduates from the U.R.I. aquaculture program they have hired over the years. Then ask the guy who runs the place who is father is... you figure the rest from there....

  • 2:28 PM J on Carp anglers catching 20-pounders

^You dont own the lake because your house is on it. Everyone knows there's big carp and catfish in Tiogue Lake and people love to fish their. Deal with it or move to a private lake dont act like a jerk.

  • 3:45 AM StriperSniper on New spear world record striper: 68.4 pounds

That fish was probably eating other fish too, even smaller Stripers. So, killing it also saved plenty of other fish. How much longer is a fish that old gonna live anyway? And yes, the record is definitely worth it. That's a no-brainer.

  • 2:54 PM Peter Jannitto on First reports of bass in the Bay

Fished the Providence and Seekonk Rivers this morning, not much sign of life...yet. I managed two stripers 25" and 27" off the Rumford shore in about 6' of water on pearl Storm shad. No bait to be seen, but they will have food o'plenty when they do show up; TONS of plankton and small jellyfish. I hope the pogies are hungry when they show up. Slow trolled small shad umbrellas on the tail of the rising tide along Pawtuxet to south of Green Island, nothing doing there. i am going to target the Tautog next time out, that bite should be in full swing very soon.

  • 1:08 PM Jarlath Crowe on Vican lands 75.4-pound record bass

I have worked with cold water fish for over 31 years, raising Rainbow, Brook, Brown, Lake Trout and Atlantic Salmon in various fish hatcheries. I make it a point to retire any fish that have spawned 4 years in a row, as they do not handle stress well and give poor eggs later on. I would have killed that 75 lbs Striper, knowing that her eggs wouldn't be that viable. I want to congratulate Peter Vican for landing such a magnificient Striper. PS. I rarely ever kill a Striper unless I know she's not gonna survive.

So I love to post on the internet too, but I feel guilty busting the chops of guys who catch big fish. I've vowed that I would just shut up about it. Don't you feel bad being such a dick by busting this guy's balls? Do you ever think about that? Congrats on the big mouth, but is this what you should be doing? Is your post worth it?
