"Crazy" Alberto Knie, courtesy Mike Laptew A big-screen audio-visual fishing and environmental event featuring "Crazy" Alberto Knie and Mike Laptew, "The Diving Fisherman," will be presented by the East Bay Anglers fishing club at its 24th Annual Winter Fishing Expo Sunday, January 4, at 2 p.m. in Barrington High School. The $15 admission tickets are available by advance sale from: East Bay Anglers, Box 293, Barrington, RI, 02806. A brochure with a ticket-buying coupon can be downloaded from the club's web site. Alberto and Mike have created programs on how to catch big striped bass at nearby bays and beaches. Mike's underwater video footage now appears on several National Geographic TV programs. He also produces and sells thousands of DVDs on striped bass fishing. Alberto is a multi-species global fisherman and productive striped bass angler from Long Island. His nickname 'Crazy' was earned through the intensity of his fishing. The show program of fishing adventures available on nearby bays and beaches was developed to help anglers cope with the changing economy. "With higher fuel costs," Mike says, "anglers need to use more efficient ways to find fish. Alberto and I will concentrate on fishing adventures close to home." There will also be a fishing flea market with plenty of bargains and possibly some unusual plugs, Mike says. As always, the East Bay Club will have its huge raffle of tackle. |
