Bass are biting at Block Island and in Ninigret Pond.

Sunday, Rick Purpora of Marshfield, Mass. joined Rhode Island angler Peter Sozek on Ninigret Pond in Charlestown to take four stripers in the 25-pound class. The fish nailed live menhaden.

Meanwhile, Mike McGaw and his son, Zack, trolled tube-and-worm rigs off the southwest corrner of Block Island and, Mike reports, "We found non-stop action all day long with lots of chopper blues and good sized stripers mixed in. Water temp was right at 56 and there is lots of bait in the water. I think things will be good out there for a few more weeks considering the bait holding on the reefs."
