Blackfish are biting in Narragansett

"Blackfishing is picking up around Narragansett, including Whale Rock," writes Thom Pelletier, skipper of the charter boat ThomCat. "Wednesday's crew had some nice fish to about 8 pounds along with some good sized black seabass. Big schools of slammer blues, some of them with an obvious taste for 'tog, were feeding from Point Jude to the Narrow River.

"A few guys from my marina went to Cox Ledge to find it carpeted with dogfish and not nearly enough cod to justify the trip."
