Fishing in eight-foot breakers during Sunday's swell, three boats found bass stacked up on the bottom, says Chris Willi of Block Island Fish Works, one of the skippers out there in the storm.

In an hour, he and his guests caught three bass up to 43 inches.

When they saw another boat nearly flipped by a wave, everyone decided to head back to a snug harbor.

Chris returned to the south side of the island the following day and raised only one bass in four hours of fishing.
