Mike Delduchetto and his sons caugt enough fluke for dinner

"We have found that with the decrease in water temperatures over the past week, the war with the bluefish has eased up somewhat," says Peter Beuth, "and the bass are biting seemingly nonstop as long as the tide is running."

The first mate aboard the charter boat C Devil II says, "Slack tide will bring the blues back in force. John Murray and crew from Custom Drywall Inc, of Warwick, came out for an afternoon of fishing with us, and after enduring bluefish over the first hour due to a slow changeover in tides, we caught their limit of bass on parachute jigs in a little under two hours.

"Mike Delduchetto brought his three sons, ages 8, 7, and 5 out for a four-hour fluke fishing trip and ended up with three nice keepers and about two dozen short fish, more than enough action to keep them interested.

"Brian Nichols, John Nichols, Craig Gay, Jim Cole, Daniel Cole, and Chet Maciorowski came out on a four hour charter with us in the afternoon two days ago and managed several nice bass and numerous large bluefish.

"As fall is fast on the approach, bass fishing will only be getting better."
