Anthony Palumbo says bass are still biting. His report:

I fished Stump Pond Sunday with a friend. Bass fishing was good. We caught a few larger fish on Senkos rigged Texas style, weightless. Seems the bass are into movement more that a very slow presentation which totally stumps me, as it's been so hot. I could understand that behavior at night, but this is during the day. I was casting the Senko out and twitching it occasionally and they would strike on the twitch not the drift. We were in a section of the pond where northern pike were known to be and decided to throw some spinnerbaits. Next thing you know we caught a 34-inch pike! It took about 8 to 10 minutes to get him in. We had 8-pound test line with no steel leader, mind you! The fish was beautiful!

Monday, I fished Gorton Pond in Warwick. I had a great outing. I caught eight or so good size bass. I was using a Yamamoto 6.5 inch Cut Tail Worm in watermelon/silver flake color which is deadly! This color is awesome in any type rubber bait as it imitates a baby bass. I also had luck with a black with blue-flake Yamamoto Kreature. In both cases, I located a huge school of bass on the north side of the pond and just cast the worm and let it sink to the bottom and slowly twitch it occasionally. The key here was to fish it super slow and they couldn't resist.
