Anglers fishing aboard Neal Vitulo's charter boat, Played For It caught their limts of striped bass by 7:30 a.m. today. Young Neal has been taking clients to the upper reaches of the Bay where they have been finding a lot of fish in the mid-20-pound class, and an occasional 30-pounder. The larges striper this season weighed 34 pounds. The skipper has been fishing live menhaden and chunks around Pawtuxet, Green Island, and Prudence Island. On a visit to Bucko's Tackle and Service today, Greg Weatherby, the former owner of The Saltwater Edge, said he and his son were burned out by 8 a.m. after catching and releasing many bass and large bluefish on light tackle and fly rods. Father and daughter outting this past Sunday produced bass and blues. Seven year old Kamryn of Barrington caught (with a bit of help from dad) a nice 20-pound striper live lining pogies. Mid way between Providence Point and Bear Point, 200 feet from shore has been productive so far this season.
