Bass and bluefish are biting at Southwest Ledge off Block Island, says David Henault of Ocean State Tackle. He just called from Billy Silvia's charter boat Can't Imagine. David and his friends, John Lisi and Paul Pacheco, had hooked and released 14 striped bass as large as 30 pounds apiece on live eels. "You've got yo get your bait right to the bottom," he said. "Otherwise, the bluefish will get it."
Tom:Just returned from Block Island-a fine day with calm seas. Striped bass were hitting well! The largest fish I caught pulled the scales down to 54.5 lbs. Also other fish(s) in the high forties. Truly a fine day of striper fishing! Rich Colagiovanni
