There were small bluefish at the Weekapaug Fire District Beach at sunrise today.
Large schools of fish were blitzing bait beneath flock of birds just outside of casting range from the first parking lot to the third lot. Boaters had easy access to the fish which could have been larger than the small blues landed in the surf.
David Henault reports that there are lots of tautog biting in the Barrington River, but most of them are too small to keep.

Quality Bass at Providence Point. We put 2 bass over the rail at this location. The bass were easily 20 and 30 pounds. The first fish took a live eel and the second engulfed a clam belly. It was early in the morning and we were fishing at dead low. Plenty of other boats around that were trolling a tube and worm.
