"The beach exploded yesterday," report the captains of the Frances Fleet of party boats out of Galilee. "Doormat fluke were almost commonplace. Stealth Dan had a banner day on the Admiral Frances. He was using whole squid and landed over 20 keepers. He had five fish over 6 pounds and lost the pool with an 8-pound 11-ounce jumbo. The pool fish was caught on the last stop and was 8 3/4 pounds. The Lady Frances also had a great morning half day trip. Ginny Reed's six-year-old grandson, Cole, caught his first fish. It was a nice doormat fluke. The Gail Frances had a slower day than normal on the offshore grounds. They still had a good catch, but there was a bigger sea running to the east and that seems to have hurt the catch. The winds look favorable for the rest of the week so Captain Rich is expecting catches to return to normal."

Thom Pelletier, skipper of ThomCat, reports: "Fished Monday morning with the mighty SeaDog. Lots of fish and lots of fishermen from the Center Wall to East Beach in Charlestown. Still numerous throwbacks sprinkled with some 2- to 4-pounders mixed in. Glow or white ThomCats with mummies and squid strips were getting it done. The fish were so full of squid that they looked as though they had swallowed anything from a golf ball to a tennis ball, but they still kept eating."
